The MTA is always focussed on safety in the workplace, whether it’s hazard identification or early return to work and rehabilitation. We promote and encourage our apprentices to always “Work Safe Live Safe” and we strive to reinforce a message of safety both inside and outside the workplace.
October is National Safe Work Month and the theme this year is 'Be a Safety Champion'.
This year’s SafeWork Australia theme demonstrates that anyone, both employers and employees from any occupation or industry, can be a champion for work health and safety.
SafeWork Australia’s campaign kit for this year’s National Safe Work Month is now available and we will be participating in a staff safety awareness competition where apprentices will be asked to identify and control workplace hazards.
Using SafeWork Australia’s campaign kit, everyone can support a safety culture in their workplace and promote best practice work health and safety initiatives. You can download these resources on the National Safe Work Month website by clicking here.
The MTA also works with members to assist them with WHS systems, whether it’s a WHS audit, Emergency and Evacuation Plan or Safety Operating Procedures.
If you need any advice or assistance with your WHS systems please contact Cos Lamberto by clicking here.
