Employ less than 19 employees? You must use Single Touch Payroll

Public news

If you are an employer with 19 employees or less, you will need to start reporting with Single Touch Payroll enabled software anytime from July 1 this year to September 30 this year.

Single Touch Payroll started last year for employers with 20 or more employees and marks a significant change in the way businesses report taxation and superannuation information to the ATO.

Using STP ready payroll software, employee tax and super information is automatically sent to the ATO each time they are paid.

Members are urged to check if their accounting software is STP ready or consult your accountant to check.
