The movement of Oversize and Overmass machinery has been a long-standing agenda item of ours. Many hours of consultation with members, technical organisations and government have occurred, contributing to our lobbying efforts to increase the allowances, remove disharmony between the states and ease the burden for operators in this space.
We are pleased to announce that the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR), has released its National Class 1 Agricultural Vehicle and Combination Notice. You can read the Operator’s Guide, which outlines the key information required before moving heavy agricultural equipment, by clicking here.
This new Notice removes the need to apply for permits to move many more agricultural combinations on public roads than was previously allowed. The allowances have increased in significant measurement categories and the number of zones has been reduced from 26 to 5. You can view the new zones by clicking here.
NHVR Executive Director Freight and Supply Chain Productivity Peter Caprioli said, “some of the key provisions of the new Notice include increased mass and dimension limits, standard operating conditions, and a consistent set of rules across state and territory borders.”
If you would like to discuss what the Notice means for you, please contact Nathan Groves to by clicking here.
You can join GrainGrowers and the NHVR's webinar on Thursday the 16th of May at 11:30am to learn more about the new Oversize / Overmass Notice.
The NHVR and Grain Growers have set up the webinar to provide understanding with the new National Class 1 Agricultural Vehicle and Combination Notice.
