Many MTA members have struggled to find skilled labour, often contemplating employing a skilled migrant but facing barriers when attempting to do so.
The State Government has sought to improve this system and their new Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMA) will give South Australian businesses for greater options and flexibility to source skilled labour from overseas. It will also allow businesses to continue to access additional employer sponsored visas in trades that are in high demand, where all other avenues to employ skilled Australian citizens have failed.
Each of the ten automotive occupations have been retained for state nominated visa applications and if you are looking at hiring a skilled migrant in any of the below trades, we highly recommend you attend the Information Session at the MTA on Thursday, the 29th of August.
- Automotive Electrician
- Motor Mechanic (General)
- Diesel Motor Mechanic
- Motorcycle Mechanic
- Small Engine Mechanic
- Panel Beater
- Vehicle Body Builder
- Vehicle Trimmer
- Vehicle Painter
- Boat Builder and Repairer
The Department for Innovation and Skills will be giving a presentation on how you can take advantage of the new agreements and take on skilled migrants in an effort to fight the skills shortage.
- Thursday 29th of August - 10am
- MTA House, 81 Greenhill Road, Wayville
