Opportunity to get involved in GPSA Heavy Vehicle Inspection Education and Readiness Program

Public news

Grain Producers SA (GPSA) is developing a program for Primary Producers SA Commodity Group Members to receive tailored training sessions on heavy vehicle and road safety requirements. MTA members, who meet the criteria (listed below) to host the practical elements of the GPSA’s Heavy Vehicle Inspection Education and Readiness Program, may be interested to know that you have an opportunity to get involved.

GPSA’s Heavy Vehicle Inspection Education and Readiness Program is not to be confused with the State Government’s Heavy Vehicle Inspection Scheme (HVIS) but it may provide a customer engagement opportunity for members, particularly those who meet the below criteria:

GPSA is looking for providers to host workshops in the following regions:

  • Western Eyre Peninsula
  • Yorke Peninsula
  • Barossa
  • Upper North
  • Mid North

To be eligible you must demonstrate expertise and have access to facilities to deliver the following:

  • Independent vehicle inspections delivered in line with the Australian Design Rules and associated standards as outlined in the National Heavy Vehicle Inspection Manual
  • Applying safe working practices in an automotive workplace
  • Checklists to enable interactive inspections
  • Carrying out a maintenance check operation

The sessions are funded by the NHVR’s Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative, which is supported by the Federal Government.
